All Church personnel (volunteer or employee) who are active in ministry and have regular contact with minors are subject to the Safe Environment for Children policy of the Diocese of Pittsburgh. The parish site administrator of the safe environment policy will guide the volunteer through the process and if he/she has questions or concerns. Call the Safe Environemnt Co-Ordinator at 412.264.9368 on Mondays or Tuesdays between 12:00 noon and 3:00pm. Any paperwork associated with this policy is submitted to the parish site administrator. WORSHIP TEAM MINISTRY

   Responsible for planning special liturgies and decorating the church for different liturgical seasons and works closely with music ministry to incorporate music and song into the liturgy.
   Adult Facilitator for readings and activities

   Cantors proclaim the psalms and lead the congregation in prayer through song.

   Men and women who lead the congregation in prayer through song.

   Youth who lead the congregation in prayer through song on selected occasions during the year. The Children's Choir is supported by an adult cantor.

   The Ensemble is a gathering of woodwind and string instrumentalists that includes guitar, violin, viola, flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, baritone and keyboards. The group is supported by two regular cantors, while additional singers are summoned for special masses such as Christmas and Easter.

   A gathering of men and women supported by keyboard and guitar. The repertoir of the group is based on sacred text set in a contemporary music style.

   Men and women who support the funeral service through the performance of sacred music.

   The Wedding Cantor proclaims the psalms and leads the wedding party in song.
     

   An usher provides seating assistance, directs the Eucharistic procession, collects the offering, distribute the weekly bulletin and monitor the parking lot when needed.
   (All Ages) —This ministry is in special need of volunteers. You only need to commit to arriving 10 – 15 minutes before the Mass that you regularly attend!

  (Teens to Adults) – Lectors proclaim the Word of God at weekend, Holy Day and special liturgies throughout the year.

   Serve the needs of the celebrant during Mass and special Liturgies that occur during the week.

   Are entrusted to assist the celebrant distribute the Body and Blood of Christ at each Eucharistic service.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

   Teachers for the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) and Christian Initiation for Children.
        Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) – Religious Education – Elementary/Middle School

   In grades one through eight, the teacher guides their class in a year long program of religious education which meets once a week.

   This fellowship group is open to all young adults age 20 — 39. Members can be single, married or divorced, with children or without children. The mission is to support the unique and challenging faith journey during this part of one’s life.

   Listen and be open to God through reading and reflecting on the Word of God.

OUTREACH

   Provides hot meals to parishioners during periods of illness, injury or special needs.
   To prepare and serve a meal in the church hall after a funeral.
   A group of parishioners who commit to praying daily for requested intentions.
   A ministry to visit New Parishioners’ Homes
   Provides an attentive ear, an open heart and a helping hand to parishioners in need of help in such temporal areas as health services, nursing care, nursing facilities, utillities or housing. This group also organizes the yearly Health Fair and various educational seminars.
   Presents and addresses social issues of the Church and of the community.

NATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS

   This is a Catholic, non-profit organization whose goal is to help the poor in spirit and downtrodden.
   This is a Catholic Men’s Fraternal organization committed to making their community a better place, while supporting their Church, through 5 areas of service – faith, community, family, youth and fellowship.

        Boy Scouts of America
   Troop 905 is part of the Greater Pittsburgh Council and a unit of the Montour District. Our troop meets every Thursday at 7:30 PM on the lower level of the Dompka Education Center.
   Adult guides the members of troup 905 at weekly meetings.

COMMUNICATION

   The members of the Communications Ministry maintain the Parish website. They issue a monthly newsletter and a calendar of parish events that are published as an insert to the bulletin.
   This group updates and publishes a Parish Handbook.

COMMUNITY/SOCIAL MINISTRIES

   Designed to promote a sense of community among parishioners through a variety of social activities for all ages: such as the Parish Picnic. This group is in special need of volunteers to help organize events.

   This Association strives to bring together all parishioners twenty–one years and older to enjoy social, religious, educational and tour activities.

   To promote fellowship and enrich the sense of community, each Wednesday after the 8:30 AM Mass, parishioners are invited to gather in the rectory for bagels and coffee.

   Once a month, following Sunday Mass, coffee, juice and donuts are served in the Parish Social Hall. "Donut Sundays" are announced in the church bulletin. Parish members meet to visit and welcome new parishioners.
   Group meets to discuss Catholic Issues, prayer and scripture.
