LECTORS

Lectors proclaim the Word of God at weekend, Holy Day and special liturgies throughout the year. Mass preferences are accepted.

LITURGICAL PLANNING

The liturgical planning committee is responsible for planning certain special liturgies and decorating the church for the different liturgical seasons throughout the year. Planning includes the Mass of Remembrance in memory of the deceased in the parish who have died throughout the year, the Graduation Mass honoring all recent high school, college, and trade school graduates, the ritual mass for the Anointing of the Sick, and a Thanksgiving Mass on Thanksgiving Day. The committee works closely with the music minister to incorporate music and song into the liturgies.

Children's Choir

The Children's Choir is an ensemble of children who support the worship service through the performance of sacred music during selected liturgies throughout the year. Rehearsals for the selected liturgies are held on Wednesday from 6-7 PM in the church hall. Check the bulletin for more information.

Ensemble

The St. Margaret Mary Ensemble is a symphonic group that includes stringed, brass, woodwind and keyboard instruments, and features harmonized vocals. The Ensemble generally plays twice monthly according to the needs of the parish and is in its seventh year of ministry. The makeup of the group is determined by the need for specific instruments and the space limitations of the performance area. The Ensemble welcomes as many talented musicians as can be effectively managed.

Planning booklets are provided through the Bereavement Team. Contact the Music Office for other Funeral Music questions.

Special arrangements for weddings and funerals can be made by contacting the Music Office.

Contemporaty Music Group

This ministry seeks to provide uplifting worship that celebrates Mass,
while engaging God’s people into full, active participation at our Sacred Liturgy.

ROBERT MORRIS UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

Catholic students who participate in the catholic campus ministry at Robert Morris University are considered to be guest parishioners and are welcome at all services and functions of the parish. Members of this group are encouraged to participate as Ushers, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, Servers, Lectors or in our Music Ministry.

USHERS

In order to ensure honor and respect for the Eucharistic liturgy, ushers help to seat parishioners at natural pauses during the Mass, such as after the penitential rite and between the readings. In addition to providing seating assistance, ushers direct the Eucharistic procession, and collect the offering. They also distribute the weekly bulletin and monitor the parking lot when needed.
